I know some people express bafflement over the Speak Now set. Why so many gowns for just a single song set? My answer? Why not! We’re officially up to nine variants for this portion of the show. How fun(ny) would double digits be?
I love that Taylor leans into the drama of the moment for this time in the setlist. And is that not the entire ethos and attitude of the original Speak Now era? I’ve always lovingly called SN her original theatre kid album. There’s so much exaggeration and a love of theatricality on that album, it feels only right to go over the top and beyond with a disproportionate number of beautiful ball gowns to choose from for a stroll down the catwalk of the Eras Tour stage and off.
This is Taylor’s second Reem Acra gown for this portion of the show, the other she introduced opening night of the European leg of the tour. It’s got *quite* a train on it! The designer confirmed this teal gown features an intricate sequin ombre effect, graduating “from deep, rich blues to soft seafoam hues towards the hem.”
